on the receiving end, public health departments have to process manual reports sent from a variety of locations, which takes time and can result in errors. skylight has supported this work by helping to launch and grow simplereport, a free tool that makes it easy to record results for rapid poc tests and quickly report data to public health departments. simplereport results are automatically sent to public health departments via a single point of connection called reportstream, which is also part of prime. as one interviewee described the reporting process: simplereport results get to public health in the format and at the cadence that departments request. our team focused on continually improving and growing simplereport through: as we continue to support ongoing covid-19 reporting, we’re also focusing on pandemic readiness and filling in gaps in other public health reporting. to further this goal, the team is conducting a pilot to explore using simplereport to report additional diseases beyond covid-19 and flu.

you can create a control that is bound to the selected field by dragging the field from the field list pane to the report. you can use the field list pane to add fields from the underlying table or query to your report design. click once to create a default-sized control, or click the tool and then drag in the report design grid to create a control of the size that you want. in report view, you can select text and copy it to the clipboard. you can also use the zoom control on the access status bar to zoom further in or out. you can change page settings in any view, but print preview is best because you can see the effects of any changes immediately.

select a report group name that fits the type of report you want to create. this can be any name you want and does not have to match with the rdf/rep name you will enter below. select the default number of copies to make of this specific report when run. this defaults from the report name field in the report – new screen and can be changed to display a different title on the report output. a complete list of available columns from the available views is available in simple report writer column filters. when selected the highlighted available column is added to the report columns and the expression configuration screen is displayed. this block displays all columns that have been selected to display on the report output. when a report column is highlighted and you select the expression button, the expression configuration screen automatically displays. when a column containing a date is selected, you can determine the format for the date to be displayed on the report output.
